Features of proposed initial location
Initial location somewhere in the West Midlands - Birmingham/Solihull/Coventry.
This gives access from many different population centres. If the first site proves viable then the plan would be to roll out the concept to other locations.
Indoor facilities only - UK weather does not permit for reliable all year long outdoor play. This avoids disappointment for customers of courts being unplayable and gives more security of revenue for sustainability of the site for investors.
Food and drink provision is preferable but will very much depend on the size of the centre. It is not financially viable to offer served food where court numbers are less than 8 courts but it is a feature that is very much a preference for us. Many USA centres pride themselves on a 'Dink and Drink' environment where the socialising aspect is very much an important part of their offering.
Plentiful car parking is not something associated with the types of space that lends itself to conversion to Pickleball. This is making site selection more difficult as it is a necessary part of the whole set-up.
Proposed opening hours are 8am to 10pm with equipment hire available for those that do not have a paddle or ball.
